The Rosa Institute brings together research, learning, and experience focused on whole-person wellness and connection. We offer classes, workshops, retreats, community events, and private sessions in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, sound healing, energy work, shamanic healing practices, herbal and natural wellness, spirituality, spiritual and lifestyle coaching, and integrative wellness.

We provide leadership, connection, and wellbeing programs for groups and organizations. The Rosa Institute is home to Project Connection, our research and educational initiative exploring belonging, relationships, human connection, and the development of healthier relationships and communities.

Educational workshops and retreats remain at the heart of what we do, creating spaces where learning, reflection, wellness, and connection can come together. Our goal is simple: to help people feel better, live well, and build meaningful connections with themselves and others.

Learning Through Nature

Nature is one of our best teachers! Some of our most meaningful learning happens when we step outside of our routines and reconnect with the natural world. The Rosa Institute’s nature-based programs and retreats blend mindfulness, gentle movement, meditation, creative exploration, plant and tree education, and opportunities to simply slow down and observe.

Our retreats are designed around connection—to ourselves, to one another, and to the world around us. Experiences may include guided nature walks, yoga, sound, journaling, botanical and herbal activities, contemplative practices, seasonal learning, and shared meals. Each gathering offers space to learn, explore, and return home with practices that can become part of everyday life.

Project Connection

Project Connection is an interdisciplinary education and community-engagement initiative of The Rosa Institute, exploring what helps people live whole, healthy, connected, and meaningful lives. Built from more than three decades of learning, teaching, mentoring, community involvement, professional experience, and holistic practice, the work brings together human development, relationships, family, belonging, community, well-being, spirituality and meaning, leadership, nature, and the environments that shape our lives.

At its heart is a simple belief: people need people, and healthy communities begin with healthy connection. Guided by our **Seven Pillars of Connection—Self, Relationships, Family, Belonging, Community, Meaning, and Contribution—**we create practical learning experiences designed to strengthen relationships, support individual and family well-being, build community connection, and help people develop skills they can carry into everyday life.

Beginning with expanded programming in 2027, Project Connection will offer educational workshops, retreats, courses, community gatherings, nature-based learning, and collaborative programs locally, nationally, and internationally. Whenever possible, community educational programs will be offered free or at affordable rates and in accessible community settings, because meaningful education and opportunities for connection should reach people where they are.

Frequently asked questions

You can use the button below to ask a question. We'll respond to you with next steps!

We offer personalized integrative and holistic wellness sessions, including yoga therapy, meditation, breathwork, stress relief, emotional regulation, coping skills, and support for healthier lifestyle choices. Holistic counseling and coaching may focus on family matters, relationships, communication, and building stronger connections. Spiritual offerings include Reiki and energy work, sound healing, chakra balancing, intuitive guidance, oracle readings, and guided spiritual, ancestral, and shamanic-style journeys. Restorative spa and self-care experiences may also be incorporated, including customized herbal face masks, herbal foot soaks, aromatherapy, essential oils, sound, meditation, and other natural wellness rituals.

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience using sound and vibration to support rest, mindfulness, and stress reduction. Sessions may include crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other therapeutic instruments while you simply rest comfortably and listen. No experience is necessary—just come as you are, get comfortable, and allow yourself time to slow down and reset.

Our nature retreats are designed to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and spend meaningful time outdoors. Depending on the season and location, a retreat may include guided nature walks, mindfulness and meditation, gentle yoga, breathwork, sound healing, journaling, creative activities, plant and tree identification, rewilding practices, and quiet time for reflection. Retreats also include refreshments and a healthy lunch, with plenty of unstructured time to simply enjoy the natural surroundings.

Our kids nature programs combine outdoor exploration, creativity, movement, mindfulness, and lots of fun. Activities vary by season and may include nature walks, tree and leaf identification, scavenger hunts, gardening, planting seeds, learning about native plants and wildlife, nature art and crafts, rock and leaf projects, outdoor games, yoga, breathing exercises, singing bowls, storytelling, journaling, and imaginative activities.
